Environmental, Social and Governance

LGI Homes remains committed to ensuring that environmental and social initiatives are part of our long-term strategies and integrating sustainable practices and values into all aspects of our business.  Our goal is to have a positive lasting impact on our stakeholders, our customers and the communities where we do business.

Focused on Sustainability:

Focused on the Environment

Since our founding in 2003, LGI Homes has been focused on helping renters become first-time homeowners. We understand the value a home can create and the stability it can provide. As part of that mission, we seek to protect the environment through our compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations in every facet of our business and that starts with the land we build our homes on. Wherever possible, we seek to maintain and cultivate green belts within our communities and to provide outdoor spaces for residents to interact with each other and with local natural habitats.

We build our homes with the goal of making sustainability affordable for our customers and limiting our impact on the environment. By limiting our number of floor plans we preserve natural resources and reduce waste. Additionally, our homes come equipped with modern energy-efficiency features like Low-E vinyl windows, programable thermostats, LED lights, EnergyStar appliances and plumbing fixtures designed to reduce water waste.

In 2023, virtually all of our homes featured Energy Star® appliances and WaterSense® fixtures.

Focused on People:

Build Better Communities

Building Better Communities:

LGI Homes prioritizes building better communities by helping our customers achieve the dream of homeownership and giving back to the communities we serve.

In 2016, the LGI Giving initiative was established. The mission of LGI Giving exemplifies our Core Values by supporting communities financially and through volunteerism, strengthening our local relationships and demonstrating loyalty. In other words – we want to empower our employees to make an impact in local communities.

Through LGI Giving, LGI Homes has contributed over $3,000,000 in corporate, non-profit sponsorships and donated more than 30,000 employee service hours in collaboration with over 100 charities and other non-profit organizations nationwide. From constructing fences and cleaning up parks, organizing food, volunteering at children's clubs, and building education centers, we are committed to being a positive presence in the communities we build.
